Android Gingerbread dominates Google Play » Google Play News

A recent report came up in public domain from Google about the usage of Different Android platform used to access Google Play store. The data has been taken over last 14 days from Google play apps store.

And the report says that the year 2012 is the year of Gingerbread, as it has overreached all other Android versions. Now almost 65% of the android users uses Gingerbread followed by Froyo (19%) in the second place. both Gingerbread and Froyo was released in the year 2010.

Android Gingerbread 2.3: 65%

Android Froyo 2.2: 19%

Gingerbread + Froyo (2.2) Together:  84%

Android Ice Cream Sandwich : 7.1%

Android 1.5 Cupcake : 1.5%
